But I, think that there are difference like the tuna and the dolphin between Glenn Murcutt and Toyo Ito. Their architecture has the shape which is similar well. But one side it is the fish, on the one hand it is Mammalia. In his case, the environment of the location doesn't decide the form of architecture. This means Toyo Ito's works (the light construction) and Glenn Murcutt's works are different completely. Works of Glenn Murcutt are subspecies. Ito compared a stick which was inserted in river to his own architecture. And He compared the eddy to concept. If it is possible, he insists that I would like to erase this stick. The architecture of Ito confronts to environment dauntlessly. In reason, the silver hat resolutely inhabits in the city of harsh environment. But, the architecture of Glenn Murcutt cannot exist in the city. If anything, The house which was built in Australia in 1974 is in the city. but there is not a zest to that house. His architecture never change the environment like architecture of Toyo Ito. |

glenn murcutt is unable (and doesn't want) to work on big projects. I saw him once in Ireland giving a lecture. It's very difficult for me to compare his architecture to somebody else's knowing he can only work at one scale. |
